Workshop
Workshop on Game-based teaching made easy - GTME 2017

21 - 23 April, 2017 - Porto, Portugal

In conjunction with the 9th International Conference on Computer Supported Education - CSEDU 2017

CHAIR

Marrit Oost
Independent Researcher
Netherlands

Brief Bio
Instructional designer since September 2015 after completing a Master of Educational Science and Technology. I focus on distance learning whilst trying to activate students nonetheless (parttime school). And at the fulltime education I focus mainly on blended education.

SCOPE

Game-based learning is a concept that many teachers would like to apply in their classes and modules but it is also a concept which can be hard to grasp. "How do I do it? Where do I start?" In this workshop some theory is presented along with examples applied at Saxion. Teachers are presented with tools, tips and tricks which they can use. However the most valuable asset that teachers take away from this workshop is the mindset on how to implement gaming elements into their modules to increase student activity and student motivation. Next to this, teachers will work on their own module, together with their peers and the workshop leader.
