Brief Bio
Derek believes that every child deserves an intelligent and personalized teacher. With that mission, he founded Squirrel AI Learning by Yixue Group, the leading AI-powered adaptive education service provider in China's K12 after-school market. Derek was awarded “China’s Top 30 Leader in AI Entrepreneurship,” “Top 10 Entrepreneur of 2018, ” “Global Times’s Annual Economics Figure” and is the vice -chair of the Smart Education Committee, Chinese Association of Automation. He was the vice-Chair and the largest individual shareholder of ONLY education, the first education company listed in China’s A-shares Stock Exchange. Derek is also responsible for several educational innovations, such as “the Model of Thinking, Capacities, and Methods in AI-models for Quality Education,” “Algorithms on Calculating the Correlation between Disconnected Knowledge Components.” He was nominated as the one of the “Most Influential Figure in AI Globally ” by World AI Summit. He is a lecturer at Singularity University. He is also a mentor and guest speaker at TV programs such as “Dialogue” and “The battleground of Business School” hosted by China Central Television (CCTV).
